Diary of the Day
My partner left for Tampa yesterday, so naturally my usual schedule with him has changed. Last night, after starting a fire when the sun set around 5:20 p.m., I enjoyed watching the flames licking the logs with the dogs for a few hours, and then all of us crashed extremely early. I think we were all asleep by 8:30 p.m. at the latest.
That meant I woke up to take care of the three of them extremely early today! I woke at 4 a.m. to take all of them out, and then I didn’t go back to bed. Instead, aside from a short break around 10:30 a.m. to run some errands, I have been writing all day long.
I just stopped briefly to enjoy this tranquil view above of the water — it’s a picture I took from my dining room table where I’ve been writing all day long. Right now, the tide is going out, so I can see Ocean Island/Seagull Island. Truth be told, as a writer, I couldn’t ask for anything better than what I have going on right now — I am looking out at spectacular views in Maine, with three amazing dogs, and am enjoying total silence. What else do I need?
Stay tuned for my upcoming podcast!
