I know there’s an ode to the artichoke by Pablo Neruda. It’s dressed like a warrior. It has a fucking army. Clearly, it’s a badass vegetable. You get the idea. I don’t hate artichokes. On the contrary. Pablo’s poem to the artichoke was, and is, one of my favorites.

I ate it recently all over the Ligurian region in Italy. (Picture above is proof of that fact).
